auTEEStic CIC was created from lived experience and a passion to create better support, understanding, and community for neurodivergent adults.

After receiving my ADHD diagnosis in my late 30s, followed later by an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis, many things throughout my life finally started to make sense. Like many neurodivergent adults, I experienced challenges that were often misunderstood or overlooked, especially growing up without the understanding or support that exists today.

Receiving those diagnoses was life-changing. It brought clarity, understanding, and the realisation that many other neurodivergent adults were facing similar experiences of isolation, masking, anxiety, burnout, and feeling like they never truly fitted in.

That is why auTEEStic CIC was created

auTEEStic CIC exists to create welcoming, inclusive spaces where neurodivergent adults can:

• Feel safe and understood 
• Build friendships and meaningful connections 
• Access peer support from others with lived experience 
• Reduce isolation and loneliness 
• Grow in confidence and independence 
• Be themselves without judgement or pressure to mask 
• 
  

This is not about changing who people are.

It is about creating spaces where neurodivergent adults feel accepted, valued, and supported.

The vision for auTEEStic CIC is simple:

To build a neurodivergent-led community where neurodivergent adults feel accepted, connected, and empowered to thrive.

Everything we do is built around inclusion, compassion, lived experience, and genuine understanding.

This is only the beginning.

auTEEStic CIC aims to grow into a long-term community hub that provides meaningful support, opportunities, and safe spaces for neurodivergent adults across Teesside and beyond.

Together, we can build a community where nobody feels alone.
